5 Tips for Toddler Tantrums

So here we were again having our Monday battle Kai vs Mommy. I don’t know what it is about Mondays but I literally have to have my coffee and mentally prepare before entering his bedroom. He use to just be grumpy but now he’s developed this new habit of falling out. I’ll be the first to admit the puppy dog tears melt my heart but with these five tips I handle all of his Tantrums, fallout and outburst best.Processed with VSCO with p5 preset

  1. Patience- I always remind myself hes doesn’t understand fully so there’s a lot of repeating myself and hands on with guiding him one on one.
  2. Keeping Control- I use the motto I’m the parent and you’re the child. I’ll count 1-2-3 as a threat and to get his attention 9/10 nothing is coming after 3 but hey he doesnt know that.
  3. Give option
s- I always give him two options during tantrums both options will be in my benefit for example ( would you like a book or a car)
  4. Snacks on Deck- Giving him a healthy snack when on the go distracts him and limits him getting cranky during outings
  5. Mocking- I will mock his crying or falling out which then he will stop and look at me as if I’m crazy sounds strange but it works I don’t even mind when strangers look at me

In all honesty I’m just a momwho’s winging it what works for my toddler may not work for yours but hey drop below our tips and tricks for tantrums. Just breathe, and think toddler years is only the beginning to lifetime parenting.
